Contacting the Council
To contact the Hermitage Parish Council in the first instance please email the Parish Clerk:
The Parish Council also has a Facebook page – click here to access it. Please note that you do not need to have a Facebook account to view this.
Please note: We are seeking new Councillors to join the team. Whilst it is a volunteer role it offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the local community. If you are interested please contact the Clerk.
Mr David Brown
Married with four children who have all attended local schools, I have been a Hermitage resident since 1971.
My interests include walking, music and photography and I have served on the parish council twice, from 2007-2008 and from 2011 to the present.

Ms Ruth Cottingham, Chair
My family and I came to Hermitage in 1990 because it was in the right location and we found a property with a large enough garden. We are still growing our own vegetables, as those of you who suffer from our gluts will know, but I do not manage to find the time to do my share. I still walk with a group I joined in 1972. I have been a member of Hermitage parish council since 2007 and chair since 2008.
Mr Oliver Cronk
My wife (who currently manages the Hermitage village hall) and I moved to north end of the village in 2006 and we have put down roots and started a family here. I am a keen cyclist and work in a Technology role for a Professional Service firm. I oversee this website and the council’s presence on social media and also am one of the administrators of the village Facebook group. I have been a member of the Hermitage parish council since 2016.

Mr Roy Marr
Although I’ve been on the council for just two years I have attended as a member of the public for many years. In fact I’ve seen 10 chairmen come and go.
I have been a village hall trustee for 30 years and am chairman of Hermitage horticultural society. I’m a retired design engineer and have lived in Hermitage for 35 years.
Mrs Sue Russell
I became a Hermitage parish councillor in 2013, having moved to the village in 2011. However I sat on the council where I previously lived so knew what I was letting myself in for!
My interests and hobbies include gardening, home crafts, theatre, family and my dog – not necessarily in that order plus implementing the 2013 parish plan with its aims for the Hermitage community.
